Social Media: Facebook upcoming changes to Business analytics

Info as of May 31, 2021:

Important changes are underway for one of our business tools at Facebook. You are getting this email because you have visited Facebook Analytics or are the owner of an account with Facebook Analytics enabled.

After June 30, 2021, Facebook Analytics will no longer be available. Facebook Analytics has provided reporting about your website, mobile app, Facebook Page and Instagram Profile depending upon your account setup.

While Facebook Analytics the individual tool is going away, these alternatives continue to be available: Events Manager, Ads Manager, Page Insights, Instagram Insights, Facebook Business Suite Insights and more.

If you currently use or previously used Facebook Analytics, we recommend you prepare by taking the following actions:

Visit your Facebook Analytics account(s):
Explore the information and insights that are provided before the product is no longer available. Go to Facebook Analytics

Download details for future reference:
Until the end of June, you will still be able to access reports, export charts and tables and review insights. Export and Download Data

Social Media bookmarking: Pinterest REVIEW

I had been using Pinterest for at least 10 years. Pinning and creating many great articles, DIY, Fashion and variety of interesting bookmarks. At some point, I was pleasantly surprised that my pins had been reaching about 140k hits a month! Besides, I had over 4k followers!

However, social media is finiky as I found out this morning. I had noticed recently, their analytics had started dropping drastically towards the end of September. And guess what, today my account doesn't even EXIST!!! Thank, but no thanks Pinterest for your betrayal for all the hard work I had done and TRUSTED your platform with my bookmarks.

Luckily, I had started my own way of keeping tab of various topics in my private bookmarks. Which reside on my external hard drive. No one can erase them at all. They are there and very easily accessible, besides I can refer to them anytime I want, without getting lost in so many boards. They are organized the way I really like to access with my own notes.

What's your experience with Pinterest platform? Recently I had also noticed that, when I wanted to pin, there wasn't a "P" button, instead they had "linked-in" and/or "reddit" icons.

Pinterest forced me to sign up with the same email that I had already signed up so many years ago. So at this point, I'll not pin anything. I'll just search and privately get the information and build my own reference. It looks as if they want for some of us to start from square one. However, I only fall once. Pinterest isn't reliabe and there is no way of going back to using it. Only to search of what I might need and that's about it.

Which platforms or ways of bookmarking work for you?

Social Media keeps evolving. What used to be the best platform for marketing is no more. Take Google's Google+ which was a great way to promote your business.

In this article, they are touching upon the latest social media platforms for business owners. I personally don't have time for videos, nor TikTok. I like to limit and channel my time and energy on those that have worked well for me.

How about you? What works well for your business?

How Much Does Social Media Marketing Cost?

Quote from this article: Restructuring an existing Twitter account with “limited coaching” to achieve client goals is still going to cost you between $1,000-$2,500 per month, with some charging as much as $4,000 per month.

Do you outsource your social media marketing? I know I do it in house promoting various projects I work on, and it's really very time consuming! But when you get sales, it's all worth it! I keep building up following. For example a month ago I started a new Instagram account for one of my projects, and I am up to 360 followers. Not bad, I am satisfied, specially I am attracting the right followers. It's important to have quality followers in line with your specific business.

What's your social media strategy, do you do it in house or outsource it?

Social Media - latest Facebook updates

We manage several Facebook communities. Today we received the following notice from Facebook regarding groups:

"At F8 we announced that we're introducing more unique features for different types of groups. As part of these changes, we are simplifying the types that are available for Facebook Groups. We will soon be adding a new type called General, and retiring 13 of the old types. This update to group types will not change anything for a group's layout, settings or the tools admins can use.

What's changing?

1. We're adding three new group types.

General: The standard set of tools available to all groups. Most groups will soon be General groups.
Jobs: Announced at F8, the new Jobs type will include tools likea new post type for members to share job openings and an easy way for job seekers to filter posts and apply on Facebook.
Health Support: Announced at F8, Health Support groups will include tools like the ability for members to ask the group's admins to post on their behalf, which allows a member to make a sensitive post without revealing their identity to everyone else in the group.
2. Retiring 13 existing group types and updating them to General type.

Groups that are currently one of the types listed below will become General groups. This update will not change anything for a group's layout, settings or the tools admins can use.

Close Friends
Club
Events and Plans
Family
Neighbors
Parents
Project
School or Class
Study Group

All group types have the tools and features available to General groups. The difference is that types such as Buy and Sell or Video Games also include extra tools to meet those groups' unique needs.

3. Groups with no type selected will be updated to General groups.

Groups that had no type selected will become General groups. This will not change the experience for the admins and members of the group. This will not change anything for a group's layout, settings or the tools admins can use...
