The original One World Trade Center (also known as the North Tower, Tower 1, Building One, or 1 WTC) was one of the Twin Towers of the original World Trade Center in New York City. It was completed in 1972, stood at a height of 417 metres (1,368 ft), and was the tallest building in the world until 1973, when surpassed by the Sears Tower in Chicago.

It was distinguishable from its twin, the original Two World Trade Center, also known as the South Tower, by the 110.3-metre (362 ft) telecommunications antenna on its roof. Including the antenna, the building stood at a total height of 1,728 feet (527 m). Other things that made the North Tower distinguishable from its twin was that there was a canopy connected to the North Tower's west facade on street level and there was two small pedestrian walkways that extended from the west and south promenades of Three and Six World Trade Center to the North Tower's north and south facades on plaza level, while the South Tower lacked any of those. The building's address was One World Trade Center, and the WTC complex had its own ZIP code (10048) due to its large size.

Some of America’s most prominent CEOs have been getting political, as in woke political, and perhaps they figured it was cost-free. They are now learning the hard way that it isn’t, as a national advertising campaign targets their brands and credibility.

The campaign launched Tuesday by Consumers’ Research, a conservative nonprofit, takes aim at Nike, Coca-Cola and American Airlines. But others could be the targets, says Will Hild, executive director of Consumers’ Research. The 30-second spots will air on national cable news, as well as “in local markets where the companies are headquartered,” the nonprofit said. One source says the overall ad buy could be up to $13 million....

Trader Joe in the USA just fired an employee for not taking a vaccine. I have heard people swear they will never, ever step foot in a Trader Joe store again in their life. The NBA is getting just half the supporters since it went woke. The big TV media company ratings have crashed since they became woke propagandists. The Oscars have become a non event to most people since Hollywood embraced virtual signalling.

Big business should stay out of politics and wokeness. It has no upside and huge downside.

 

 

Issues with FIOS GATEWAY wifi

 Recently I was having issues with my FIOS internet access! It was acting up. On the router there are two ways to connect, the 2.4 GHz didn't work.

Today I was checking and the settings website was: myfiosgateway.com SURPRISE SURPRISE it has now NOTHING to do with the router!!

It shows this tiny announcement and NOTHING ABOUT WHY IT"S NOT WORKING:

I had to do some search on duckduckgo.com and this is what I found out! SURPRISE SURPRISE< VERIZON has abandoned it!!

Someone was very kind to post it on Verizon.com - you would think for all the money Verizon takes from clients, they would have the decency to notify! This is another example of "service" not being part of service business! Horrible!

Although Verizon does not seem to notify anyone (especially clients who are not active on the website or this forum); it seems that some time in 2017, verizon abandoned MyFiosGateway.com (and presumably let the certificate of authentication lapse). 

Although the old email implies 'no other changes' from the corporate shedding of Verizon's email services (to AOL), this support domain is another loss of service for our creeping costs & stock value increase.

When I gave up on a reply here, phone support tech said she could not brows that domain.

What ever function / service that was there, you will have to use some other way to skin that cat.

It turned out neither of us knew about the difference between my router's web & home facing IPs.

A: 192.168.1.1 will get you into the router. You must simply ignore the warning and click continue.

Marketing private day schools

Several months ago, I was recommended by a friend of mine to join the Friends of HMADS.

Due to the lockdown, we have been holding Zoom meetings. Our next meeting is coming up soon. We will be presented by marketing video for the grand fundraising that the school needs to survive and give the most needed private day school education.
